Police from the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica and Transit District 20 are looking for a mad man who allegedly slashed an E train rider during an unprovoked attack on Monday morning.
Police said the 22-year-old male victim was sitting on a southbound E train approaching the Sutphin Boulevard–Archer Avenue–JFK Airport subway station at 8:20 a.m. when a stranger approached him and without saying a word pushed him twice and then punched him in the face with a closed fist, police said. The assailant pulled out an unknown sharp instrument and slashed him across his right elbow, an NYPD spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Detectives are working to determine if the perpetrator used a knife, boxcutter, or some other type of blade.
The suspect exited the E train at the Sutphin Boulevard–Archer Avenue–JFK Airport subway station and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Responding officers transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect and described him as having a medium complexion with a beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket and a black durag, green pants, black sneakers and a black backpack.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment.
