It was a busy weekend for the South African as he played two games in two days for the Fire II and the first team, winning both games.
The winger has found minutes few and far between but has made a strong case for himself with his performances in recent weeks.
Dithejane’s Busy Weekend
Dithejane made a 16-minute cameo for Gregg Berhalter’s side in their 2-1 win over Charlotte FC, a game where Robert Lewandowski netted his first two goals for the club.
He followed his cameo up with a starting spot in the Fire II’s 7-2 win against FC Cincinnati 2, and played his part by scoring the third goal of the game in what was only his third appearance for the second team.
The former TS Galaxy star is in a rich vein of form after scoring his first goal for the club against Inter Miami in a 3-2 defeat.
First-Team Opportunities Limited
Dithejane was substituted at half-time, showing his importance to the first team, as the season enters the business end.
It was his 11th appearance of the season for the first team, making 10 appearances off the bench, while he has yet to miss a matchday squad this season.
The 22-year-old will be hoping his continued involvement across both sides can earn him more regular minutes as the Fire push up the Eastern Conference standings.
