Derna flood victims: 12 more identified
The General Authority for the Search and Identification of Missing Persons says it has identified 12 more victims of Storm Daniel, which struck the city of Derna more than two years ago.
In a statement on Thursday, the authority said its scientific committee had approved a new list of DNA matches after completing all stages of genetic testing and analysis.
The cases include victims from three Arab nationalities: Egyptian, Jordanian and Palestinian.
The results have been referred to the Office of the Attorney General to complete legal procedures and contact families.
The authority said work is continuing on remaining samples as part of efforts to identify all victims.
