The Ministry of Defence has taken delivery of a refurbished patrol boat following maintenance work carried out in Malta.
The vessel, named Al-Kifah, was handed over during an official ceremony in the Maltese capital, Valletta, after undergoing technical upgrades.
In a statement, the ministry said the work forms part of efforts to modernise naval assets and improve operational readiness. It said the vessel would help strengthen the protection of territorial waters, secure ports and support maritime safety.
Officials added that returning the patrol boat to service would enhance the capabilities of coastguard and port security units, particularly in tackling illegal activities at sea.
The ministry said the step reflects a broader plan to upgrade military equipment and reinforce maritime security, with the aim of safeguarding national sovereignty.
