Decade-old awards over land reforms summarily enforced against Zimbabwe

A US court has issued a summary judgment enforcing ICSID awards worth more than US$270 million against Zimbabwe arising from the expropriation of farm and forestland as part of a controversial reform programme started by former president Robert Mugabe, rejecting the state’s efforts to reduce the sum owed based on the investors’ continued use of parts of the land.
