Dbeibah says his government is keen on fully implementing unified agreement

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Dbeibah met on Sunday with Central Bank of Libya Governor Naji Issa to discuss Libya’s economic and financial conditions and ways to strengthen coordination between fiscal and monetary policies.

The meeting addressed revenues and public spending, as well as measures related to implementing the provisions of the Unified Development Agreement and the extent of compliance with its terms throughout the implementation stages.

Dbeibah reaffirmed the Government of National Unity’s support for the Unified Development Agreement and its commitment to fully implementing its provisions. He stressed the importance of identifying shortcomings that emerge during implementation, determining their causes and addressing them to ensure the objectives for which the agreement was adopted are achieved.

Dbiebah also underscored the importance of continued coordination between the government and the Central Bank of Libya and of following up on the implementation of agreed measures in a manner that supports financial and economic stability and serves the public interest.

The meeting comes as part of efforts to strengthen coordination between fiscal and monetary policies and to follow up on revenues, spending and the implementation of agreed development arrangements.
