Dbeibah, Chadian Foreign Minister discuss resumption of direct flights, enhanced bilateral cooperation

Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah discussed ways to strengthen Libyan-Chadian cooperation and develop bilateral relations with Chad’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad and Chairman of the Executive Bureau of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, Abdallah Sabre, on Thursday.

The meeting, attended by a number of Libyan and Chadian officials, addressed cooperation in the transport sector, particularly the resumption of direct flights between Tripoli and N’Djamena. The first flight is scheduled for Friday, a step aimed at facilitating travel and strengthening connectivity between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of opening a Chadian office at the Misrata Free Zone, as well as ongoing preparations for a meeting of the Libyan-Chadian Joint Committee to facilitate more regular discussions on bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also addressed Libyan loans granted to Chad, with both sides discussing ways to reach understandings on the issue and support the broader development of bilateral relations and cooperation.
