Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has instructed executive bodies to accelerate the implementation of infrastructure and road projects and urgently address bottlenecks facing the Central Tripoli Municipality. He stressed the need to adhere to established timelines and strengthen direct coordination with the municipal council to ensure projects are carried out in accordance with approved technical standards.
The remarks came during an expanded meeting held on Sunday with the Central Tripoli Municipal Council to review the municipality’s needs and assess progress on the government’s plan to improve the capital’s urban landscape, address road and infrastructure bottlenecks, and follow up on developments in the health and education sectors, according to a statement published by the Government of National Unity on Facebook.
During the meeting, Central Tripoli municipal officials presented updates on the implementation of ongoing projects within the municipality, reviewed progress achieved over the past period, and outlined the main challenges hindering the completion of several service projects, as well as the support needed to advance development plans and improve public services.
Dbeibah emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between executive institutions and the municipal council to accelerate project implementation and achieve a significant improvement in the quality of services across the capital.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Mohamed Ben Ghalboun, Minister of Youth Haitham Al-Zahaf, Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects Mustafa Al-Manea, the Director General of the Government Communication Center, as well as heads of executive agencies and directors of state-owned companies.
