Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,370 Troops, 3 Air Defense Systems, and 62 Artillery Systems — UNITED24 Media

Russian forces suffered an estimated 1,370 personnel casualties and lost five tanks and 62 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, according to Ukraine’s latest battlefield assessment.

Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 15 that the latest figures bring Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,465,810.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces also lost three armored combat vehicles, two multiple launch rocket systems, three air defense systems, 12 unmanned ground vehicles, and 1,835 operational-tactical UAVs during the reporting period.

Ukraine additionally reported the destruction of 522 vehicles and fuel tankers and four pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses are now estimated at 12,269 tanks, 25,144 armored combat vehicles, 47,932 artillery systems, 2,026 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,568 air defense systems, 439 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 2,241 unmanned ground vehicles, 461,484 operational-tactical UAVs, 5,007 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 134,375 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,528 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 233 combat engagements across the front over the past 24 hours. Russian forces carried out 71 airstrikes during the day, dropping 241 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

They also deployed 10,626 strike drones and conducted 3,042 attacks against Ukrainian settlements and military positions, including 36 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.

Over the same period, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck two Russian command posts, five areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, three artillery systems, and eight UAV control points.

Earlier, Ukrainian SBU drones struck several high-value Russian air defense assets, including a key 92N6 engagement radar from an S-400 system, two Pantsir-S2 systems, and Kasta-2E2 and Sopka-2 radars, with the targeted equipment valued at more than $170 million.
