Cybastion Plans $75m AI-Powered Data Centre, Power Plant in Cameroon

Cybastion has announced plans to invest $75 million in an artificial intelligence-powered data centre and power plant in Cameroon, as the U.S.-based technology company expands its digital infrastructure projects across Africa.
The planned investment was announced by the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon on August 27 during the inaugural U.S.-Cameroon Bilateral Economic and Commercial Dialogue held in Douala.

Ahead of the bilateral dialogue, Cybastion’s Senior Director of Infrastructure Solutions, Daniel Epee Lea, moderated a high-level panel on August 26 organised by the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon.
The panel brought together private-sector and government representatives to examine Cameroon’s digital economy, business environment and opportunities for investment in the technology sector.
Participants included François Joseph Nemete Beyeme, Director of Telecommunications and ICT Regulation at Cameroon’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications; Dr. Divine Anye, CEO of Info Pro Solutions; and Ayuk Etta, founder of Mountain Hub.
Discussions focused on opportunities and challenges surrounding digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation and artificial intelligence in Cameroon.
The planned AI-powered data centre and power plant would add to Cybastion’s growing portfolio of digital infrastructure initiatives on the African continent, while supporting the expansion of computing and technology infrastructure in Cameroon.
