Crawford & Company has expanded its claims operations in Colombia by adding the professional team from Asegúrate, strengthening its technical expertise and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s insurance market.
The strategic investment brings Asegúrate’s local market knowledge and specialist claims experience into Crawford’s Colombia business, enhancing the company’s capabilities in property and casualty (P&C), marine, loss control, risk management and other key claims disciplines. The expanded team will also complement Crawford’s established third-party administration (TPA) operations in the country.
Andrew Bart, CEO of International Operations at Crawford, said the move reflects the company’s confidence in Colombia’s insurance sector.
“Colombia is an important market within our Latin American operations and this investment reflects our long-term confidence in the country’s insurance sector,” Bart said. “By adding to our technical capabilities and welcoming highly experienced professionals to our team, we are further enhancing our ability to support clients with specialized claims and risk solutions backed by Crawford’s global resources, technical excellence and strong local market expertise.”
As part of the expansion, Mauricio Pinzón joins Crawford as claims manager for commercial lines in Colombia. Pinzón brings extensive experience managing complex property, casualty and marine claims, leading multidisciplinary teams and working with both local and international insurance markets.
Leonardo Semenovitch, president of Crawford Latin America, said the addition supports the company’s broader regional growth strategy.
“The addition of Mauricio and his team strengthens our technical capabilities in Colombia while complementing our existing TPA platform, providing clients with access to broader expertise, enhanced service capabilities and the backing of Crawford’s global network,” Semenovitch said.
Pinzón said joining Crawford will allow his team to combine personalized client service with the resources of a global claims management organization.
“Together, we can provide even greater support through expanded capabilities, advanced technology and one of the industry’s most extensive claims networks, while creating more career opportunities for our people and maintaining the high level of service our clients expect,” he said.
According to Crawford, clients in Colombia will benefit from expanded claims management expertise, access to global best practices and technology, and continued local market support. The company said the integration is part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen claims capabilities across Latin America through investment in local talent and specialized expertise.
