Court Imposes Publication Ban On Investigation Into Missing Mother And Daughter In Vienna

The Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court has imposed a publication ban on information related to the investigation into the disappearance of Mali and Liel Yahalomi, the Israeli mother and daughter who went missing in Vienna last week.

The order was issued at the request of the national unit for combating organized crime, YALAC, which operates under Lahav 433 and is leading the investigation. It will remain in effect until Sept. 13, 2026.

Israeli police stressed that the order is broad and prohibits the publication of any information concerning the investigation. Under the order, disclosing information covered by the ban constitutes a criminal offense.

The families of Mali and Liel have meanwhile criticized information that was released before the ban took effect. They said the reports could create the impression that investigators had already reached conclusions about what happened to the two women, and claimed they possess information that contradicts some of the details that were made public.

With the court order now in place, no further details about the investigative leads being pursued or ongoing operations can be released.
