Couhaib Driouech Excited to Begin New Chapter at Celta Vigo

Casablanca – Moroccan winger Couhaib Driouech has expressed his excitement after completing his move to Spanish side Celta Vigo, describing his arrival as an opportunity to become part of a club he has heard positive things about.

Driouech joined Celta from PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday after the two clubs reached an agreement over a transfer reportedly worth €7 million. The Moroccan has signed a contract running until 2030.

Speaking to Celta’s official website, the 24-year-old said he was eager to get started with his new team.

“I’m very happy to be here. I’m excited to play for Celta. I’ve heard very good stories about the club, and I’m happy to be part of this family.”

Driouech also promised to give his full effort for the club and the city as he begins his first professional chapter outside the Netherlands.

“I’ll try to give my best and do everything I can for the club and for the colors of the city. I hope we can achieve great things together.”

The move brings an end to Driouech’s career in the Netherlands, where he developed through spells with Excelsior Rotterdam and SC Heerenveen before joining PSV.

At PSV, the winger established himself as an attacking option capable of operating on either flank, although he primarily plays on the left. 

Driouech enjoyed a productive 2025-26 campaign, making 40 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists across competitions.

He also gained valuable Champions League experience, featuring in 12 matches and registering four goals and two assists. One of his standout performances came against Liverpool, when he scored twice and was named player of the match.

Celta believe his versatility and attacking qualities will add further options to Claudio Giráldez’s squad as the club prepares for the new La Liga campaign.

For Driouech, the move represents a fresh challenge and his first opportunity to test himself outside Dutch football as he looks to establish himself in Spain.
