Corvus Energy has partnered with Brazil-based Belga Marine to provide local aftermarket support, spare parts storage and technical services for its marine battery systems as the country’s fleet of battery-powered OSVs expands.
Brazil now operates nearly 500 OSVs, its largest-ever fleet, with Petrobras planning to bring more than 40 new ships into service from 2027 as part of a wider renewal programme.
Worldwide, hundreds of OSVs rely on Corvus Energy storage systems, including several hybrid vessels operating in Brazil. In line with growth projections for the Brazilian offshore sector, this number is expected to increase. To provide comprehensive service support for existing and upcoming vessels, Corvus Energy is partnering with Belga Marine.
Belga Marine will act as Corvus’ authorised service partner in the region. The company is registered with ABS, Bureau Veritas, DNV, and Lloyd’s Register and specialises in naval electronics, navigation, automation and telecommunications systems.
“Through our partnership with Belga Marine, we can combine strong regional service capabilities with Corvus Energy’s global expertise, digital monitoring solutions, predictive analytics, and technical support network,” said Tor-Gunnar Hovig, head of Americas for Corvus Energy.
Ari Claudio, technical manager at Belga Marine, said the tie-up extended the company’s existing portfolio of specialised maintenance solutions to include marine battery systems.
The agreement is designed to improve system reliability and uptime for vessel owners while giving Corvus a stronger on-the-ground presence in one of the fastest-growing offshore markets.
