Concerns over Uganda’s open-door refugee policy

As Uganda joins the rest of the world to mark World Refugee Day, questions are emerging whether the country’s globally acclaimed open-door refugee policy remains sustainable amid declining donor funding, growing pressure on social services, and increasing refugee numbers. Uganda currently hosts more than two million refugees, making it one of the largest refugee-hosting nations in the world.
