Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu Attends the Final of the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition in Liberia_Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China
On May 26th, Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, attended the final of the 25th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition in Liberia and delivered a speech. Hon. Prof. Layli Maparyan, President of the University of Liberia, Hon. Charlyne Taylor, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, attended the event.
In his speech, Yin briefed on the Global Civilization Initiative, the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, and the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations. He stated that the Chinese language carries thousands of years of Chinese civilization and wisdom, and stands as an important cultural public good contributed by China to the world. Chinese language education in Liberia helps many students understand Chinese culture, realize their personal dreams, and gain valuable friendships. He hoped the students could continue learning Chinese, and become participants, witnesses, and promoters of China-Liberia friendship, so that the friendship may continue to be carried forward and flourish.

Both Hon. Maparyan and Hon. Taylor praised fruitful cooperation between China and Liberia, encouraged students to actively learn Chinese, embrace new knowledge and opportunities, and promote friendship between the two countries.
