Under the partnership, CAMTEL will make its telecommunications infrastructure, technical expertise and technological capabilities available to participating private higher education institutions. The initiative is expected to help institutions address growing demand for reliable digital infrastructure within Cameroon’s education sector.
CAMTEL Managing Director, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, stressed the importance of quality connectivity for higher education institutions. She said reliable connectivity is essential to enabling university communities to improve the quality of teaching and gain better access to digital resources.
Through the framework agreement, private higher education institutions will have access to a range of solutions, including reliable broadband connectivity to facilitate access to online educational resources and digital services.
The partnership will also support the interconnection of campuses, enabling institutions to facilitate the secure and efficient exchange of information between different locations. CAMTEL will further provide secure and sovereign data-hosting solutions designed to give institutions greater protection and control over their data.
In addition, the agreement will enable IPES to access digital solutions tailored to their operational needs, with the aim of improving efficiency, competitiveness and their ability to adopt new technologies.
CAMTEL and ANIPES said the partnership reflects their shared commitment to developing a more connected, secure and efficient private higher education sector in Cameroon, while encouraging greater innovation and digital adoption.
The agreement forms part of broader efforts to leverage digital infrastructure to strengthen education and support Cameroon’s ongoing digital transformation.
