Cameroon’s richest man, Baba Ahmadou Danpullo moves to protect his $930 million fortune

Cameroonian billionaire Baba Ahmadou Danpullo has launched a new asset management firm, Danpullo Capital, to organize and shield his estimated $930 million fortune.

Unveiled on July 22, 2026, in the coastal city of Douala, the joint venture with Kessner Capital Management marks the first time the 77-year-old magnate has placed his assets under external, institutional management.

The entity will oversee the family’s wealth while deploying private credit and equity across Central Africa.

Danpullo built his fortune through the Bestinver and Baba Ahmadou conglomerates, holding major stakes in real estate, tea plantations, telecommunications, and livestock across Central Africa and Europe.

Partner firm Kessner Capital specializes in structured finance and is 76% owned by Swiss investment firm NFG SA.

According to statements reported by Billionaires.Africa, leadership from both investment groups intends to leverage the venture to deliver alternative debt solutions for small and mid-sized enterprises struggling with a regional financing shortfall.

The establishment of Danpullo Capital arrives during a period of major investment and high-stakes legal battles.

Danpullo recently announced a $900 million plan to launch a private airline alongside two dedicated airports in Cameroon.

At the same time, he continues to navigate legal fallout from the 2020 seizure and liquidation of his South African commercial real estate holdings by First National Bank.

Consolidating his empire into an institutional fund creates a legal buffer to insulate core family assets while establishing a clear succession structure for future generations.
