Cameroon TRB Updates Telecom Operators Directory to Strengthen Transparency
The initiative is aimed at strengthening transparency in Cameroon’s electronic communications sector while supporting the development of the country’s digital economy.
Cameroon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB) has begun preparations for its 2026 Directory of Operators and Service Providers in the electronic communications sector, as part of efforts to improve transparency and access to verified information in the telecommunications market.
The directory will provide an updated database of licensed operators and service providers authorised to offer electronic communications services in Cameroon. It is also intended to help consumers identify legitimate providers, locate their offices and service outlets, and distinguish authorised companies from fraudulent or unlicensed service providers.
Beyond consumer protection, the directory is expected to support public institutions and other stakeholders by making it easier to identify authorised operators involved in public procurement. TRB said the initiative will also improve traceability and transparency in related processes while highlighting compliance with regulatory requirements.
The regulator said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to support Cameroon’s digital transformation through modern and accessible regulatory tools. The directory is expected to serve as a reference for consumers, public institutions and investors and contribute to greater confidence in the telecommunications market.
TRB has called on all operators and service providers to complete the identification form through its official website by 30 September 2026. The information collected will be used to prepare the 2026 directory and update the regulator’s database of sector participants.
