Rabat, Aug. 17 (SANA) Cameroon won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the first time after beating Malawi 3-0 in the final in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, on Sunday.
Marie Manga scored twice, opening the scoring in the 20th minute before adding her second just before halftime in the 45th. Naomi Eto scored Cameroon’s other goal in the 30th minute.
The victory gave Cameroon their first title in the competition after four previous appearances in the final ended without a trophy.
Cameroon reached the final after defeating hosts Morocco on penalties in the semifinals, while Malawi advanced with a victory over Algeria.
