Cameron Boozer Joins Isaiah Evans in Declaring for NBA Draft

DURHAM, N.C. — Cameron Boozer has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, making him the second Duke player to announce his plans to enter this year’s draft process. Boozer joins Isaiah Evans, who previously announced his decision to declare. The move was expected after Boozer completed a decorated freshman season with the Blue Devils. NBA.com initially reported that Boozer joined the draft list Friday evening, with Duke men’s basketball also acknowledging his decision publicly following the player’s social media posts.

Boozer arrived at Duke as one of the most closely watched freshmen in college basketball and immediately became one of the central players on the Blue Devils’ roster. The 6-foot-9 forward led Duke in scoring, rebounding and assists during the 2025-26 season, averaging 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field, according to his Duke player profile.

His freshman season also included a long list of individual honors. Boozer was named ACC Player of the Year, ACC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-ACC. He was also selected as the ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 20.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists during Duke’s conference tournament championship run.

Boozer later became Duke’s seventh consensus National Player of the Year and the second Blue Devil freshman to earn that distinction. Duke listed his recognized national honors as including awards from the Associated Press, USBWA, NABC, The Sporting News, the Naismith Trophy and the Wooden Award.

The Associated Press named Boozer its men’s college basketball national player of the year after a season in which Duke won 35 games, reached No. 1 in the AP Top 25, claimed the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight. Boozer received 59 of 61 votes from AP Top 25 voters for the honor.

Boozer’s production was consistent throughout the season. He finished tied for the national lead with 22 double-doubles and became just the second Duke freshman to reach that total in a season. He also averaged 22.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 blocks in four NCAA East Region games, earning a spot on the region’s all-tournament team.

Evans became the first Duke player from this year’s team to declare for the 2026 NBA Draft. He announced his decision April 22 after averaging 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 38 games. Evans moved into a starting role during the 2025-26 season after contributing mainly off the bench as a freshman.

With Boozer’s announcement, Duke now has two players publicly in the 2026 NBA Draft process. Boozer’s declaration follows a freshman season that placed him among the most productive players in the country and among the most accomplished first-year players in program history.
