Following a disappointing FIFA World Cup, the Selecao returned to the field of play and a journey down under led to consecutive encounters with Australia where they draw 1-1 before claiming a victory in the second fixture.
Vinicius Junior looked to give the South American giants the perfect start seven minutes gone through a surging strike at the near post following a diagonal run from midfield, but he hit the side-netting.
Chelsea midfielder Estevao, who was amongst a few of the big-names that started, proved more accurate inside the half-hour mark when he drifted to the edge of the box and dropped a shoulder to fire into the near corner of the net for the opening goal.
Brazil doubled the lead five minutes ahead of the break when Estevao came in on the half-space and threaded a pass through to Pedro to get behind the defence and fired through the gloves of Gurpreet Sandhu.
Selecao boss Carlo Ancelotti rung the changes after the interval and introduced Gabriel Magalhaes, Samuel Lino, Vanderson, Bruno Guimaraes and Douglas Luiz, while Sandhu on the other hand made way for Prabhsukhan Gill.
India’s rare sight to goal came five minutes into the second stanza when Manvir Singh came out wide to get on the end of a forward pass before getting in a shot from a tight angle, but Pedro Morisco made a stop.
The Selecao went further clear of the host after the opening ten minutes of the second spell when Pedro carved out a yard of space to play a square pass to the far side for substitute Lino to curl into the bottom-corner.
The dominance continued for the visitors who bagged a fourth in the last minute of play when Lino rifled in from a corner, rounding off an emphatic first-ever win over India.
