Brazil agribusiness exports hit record for June
Brazilian agribusiness exports reached US$16.6 billion in June, a record for the month, the Ministry of Agriculture said. The figure was up 14% from June last year, or an increase of US$2 billion. Agribusiness accounted for 45.7% of Brazil’s total export value last month.
The first-half result was also a record. Agribusiness exports totaled US$87.1 billion from January through June, up 6.2% from the same period in 2025.
In June, the main highlight in the agribusiness trade balance was soybeans, with sales of US$6.3 billion, up 17.3% from June 2025. In volume terms, exports reached 14.5 million tonnes, an 8% increase from last year. China was the leading buyer of Brazilian soybeans, purchasing US$4.4 billion and accounting for a 71.1% share, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Fresh beef was another highlight in June, with exports of US$1.8 billion, up 39.2%. The average export price for the protein rose from US$5,448 per tonne in June 2025 to US$6,538 per tonne in June 2026, an increase of 20%.
Markets
China was the main destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports last month, with purchases totaling US$6.5 billion, up 11.1%. The country accounted for 39.1% of total export value.
Exports to the United States, however, fell 13% to US$911.8 million. Pulp was the leading product in the export basket, at US$143.8 million, down 9%. Another key item, green coffee, declined 13.6%, mainly due to lower prices. Fresh beef, by contrast, posted an 89.3% increase in value, reaching US$142.6 million.
The main June records registered in 2026 were:
Soybeans — record volume, at 14.5 million tonnes, up 8%;
Fresh beef — record value, at US$1.8 billion, up 39.2%, and record volume, at 279,700 tonnes, up 16%;
Soybean meal — record volume, at 2.5 million tonnes, up 36.2%;
Green coffee — record value, at US$935.6 million, up 0.2%;
Uncarded and uncombed cotton — record value, at US$350.6 million, up 64.1%, and record volume, at 217,000 tonnes, up 63.4%;
Live cattle — record value, at US$191.4 million, up 216%, and record volume, at 58,600 tonnes, up 134.1%;
Instant coffee — record value, at US$93.7 million, up 25.4%, and record volume, at 8,100 tonnes, up 49.9%;
Chicken offal — record value, at US$68.9 million, up 272%, and record volume, at 42,100 tonnes, up 73%;
Beef offal — record volume, at 23,000 tonnes, up 17.8%.
