Portuguese top-flight club SC Braga have completed the signing of highly rated Nigerian teenage defender Adebisi Olamikun from Nigeria Premier Football League side Inter Lagos, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Inter Lagos confirmed the transfer in a statement on their official X account, announcing the departure of the 18-year-old, who has earned a reputation as one of the country’s brightest young defenders.
Reports indicate the left-footed centre-back has signed a long-term contract in a deal valued at around €50,000.
Olamikun has already arrived in Portugal, where he will begin his development with Braga’s youth team as he bids to force his way into the club’s senior squad. His move follows an impressive rise at Inter Lagos, where his composed displays and defensive qualities established him as one of the standout young talents in the NPFL.
The transfer further underlines Inter Lagos’ growing reputation for nurturing players capable of making the transition to European football, with Olamikun becoming the latest graduate of the club’s development pathway to secure a move abroad.
According to Transfermarkt, Olamikun is the eighth Nigerian to join Braga, following former Super Eagles defender and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner Elderson Echiejile among those who have represented the Portuguese club. The move marks a significant step in the youngster’s career as he begins his European adventure.
