On Saturday June 6 between 10:30am and 7pm, Bolton Library will host an Egypt Study Day, giving young an old alike the chance to get hands-on with ancient history with some of the UK’s leading experts.
There will be a special focus on animals, with children learning how animals were worshipped and treated, and what roles they played in society and commerce.
The talk will include discussions of all manner of ancient Egyptian wildlife, from alligators and ibises to humble housecats.
Experts include Egyptologist Prof Joann Fletcher, archaeological chemist Dr Stephen Buckley, Egyptologist and Curator of Egypt and Sudan at Manchester Museum, Dr Campbell Price, and much more.
