Bogota and Several Nearby Municipalities Prepare for Coffee Master 2026
For thirteen days, a special route will be activated in central Colombia for coffee lovers. It is Coffee Master, which has become a platform that promotes the work of producers, roasters, and baristas, while bringing the public closer to the world of specialty coffee.
Between August 5 and 17, different coffee shops in Bogota and the neighboring municipalities of Chia, Cajica, Zipaquira, Sopo, and Mosquera will create exclusive beverages for the event, which will be subject to the votes of those who taste them.
Each participating coffee shop will offer an exclusive beverage created especially for the festival. The goal is to combine brewing techniques, innovation, and the distinctive flavor of Colombian coffee.
Outstanding coffee shops will receive a seal
For that reason, Coffee Master has established itself as one of the most important events for the coffee sector, while allowing thousands of consumers to discover new coffee shops, support local businesses, and learn more about the country’s coffee culture.
The coffee shops that stand out for their technique, quality, and service will receive the Coffee Master Golden Seal as recognition, which will be launched during this edition.
An element of suspense will be the fact that the winners will be chosen through mystery visits during the event. The purpose is to evaluate the overall experience received by each customer.
However, those mystery visits will not provide the final verdict. In addition to tasting the beverages, attendees will also take part in the competition. After visiting the participating coffee shops, consumers will be able to rate their favorites, helping determine which signature beverage will win this edition.
A specialized jury will complement the evaluation using criteria such as creativity, technique, and sensory experience.
In addition, during their tour, visitors will be able to discover different brewing methods, flavor profiles, and creative proposals that reflect the diversity of Colombia’s coffee culture.
The best signature beverages will be awarded
The event will include everything from classic preparations such as espresso and pour-over coffee to cold brew and signature recipes combining coffee with dairy products, fruits, spices, seeds, cocoa, and herbs produced in Colombia.
“We want Coffee Master to help raise the standards of specialty coffee in Colombia,” Mauricio Cortes, director of Coffee Master, said, as quoted by Semana magazine. “The objective is not only to reward one beverage, but to recognize the joint work of producers, baristas, coffee shops, and everyone who makes a memorable coffee experience possible.”
Coffee Master will conclude on the public holiday Monday, August 17, with a ceremony at Teatro Libre de Chapinero in Bogota, where the best signature beverages, the most outstanding coffee shops, and the winners of the new Coffee Master Golden Seal will be honored.
Before the awards ceremony, a specialty coffee fair open to the public with free admission will also be held.
The previous edition of Coffee Master produced figures that reflect the event’s growth. In 2025, 65,000 beverages were sold, generating COP 545 million in direct sales and more than COP 950 million in cross-sales.
In addition, the event promoted the purchase of more than two tons of Colombian single-origin coffees, and the competition’s platform recorded nearly 250,000 visitors and the same number of votes.
