MONROVIA, Liberia, September 11, 2026: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is expected to host his administration’s second Annual Presidential Media Dinner on Saturday, September 12, bringing together government officials and journalists to strengthen relations between the government and the Liberian media.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Monrovia.

According to organizers, the dinner is intended to provide an informal setting for President Boakai, senior government officials, and media practitioners to interact and discuss ways to strengthen professional relations between the government and the press.

The gathering is also expected to give journalists and government officials an opportunity to engage outside regular press conferences, official briefings, and other formal activities.

Organizers said the initiative aims to improve communication, reduce misunderstandings, and foster greater mutual understanding between public officials and journalists.

The dinner will also provide media practitioners with an opportunity to interact and network with senior government officials and other stakeholders.

The Boakai administration has described the media as an important partner in promoting public information, transparency and communication between the government and citizens.

Saturday’s event will also recognize journalists and media institutions for informing the public and contributing to national discourse.

The Presidential Media Dinner was introduced under the Boakai administration as an annual engagement between the Presidency and Liberia’s media community.

This year’s gathering marks the second edition of the event and is expected to bring together journalists from various media institutions and senior officials of government.
