Blood drive targets 30,000 units

As the Indian community celebrates Independence Week, Uganda Blood Transfusion Services, in partnership with Bank of India, has organised a month-long national blood donation drive with a target of collecting 30,000 units.

According to Lillian Nantambi, a senior blood transfusion recruiter, students, who are their main source of blood, are breaking off for holidays, so they need to bridge the gap caused by a likely blood shortage.
