On June 10th, Yuri Nikolaichik, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Zimbabwe, met with Jacob Mudenda, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ Foreign Ministry
The Speaker highly praised the results of his visit to Belarus and his participation in the 2nd international interparty conference — The State Sovereignty and Principles of International Relations in Conditions of Multipolarity and Diversity in the 21st Century — which took place on May 28th-29th in Brest.
Both parties emphasised their intention to promote further expansion of practical co-operation between the parliaments and political parties of Belarus and Zimbabwe.
Jacob Mudenda extended his gratitude to Igor Sergeyenko, the Chairman of the House of Representatives at the National Assembly of Belarus, and invited him to make a reciprocal visit to Zimbabwe.
The two sides engaged in detailed discussions on measures to advance political and economic interaction, as well as to strengthen humanitarian relations between Belarus and Zimbabwe.
The Speaker supported Belarus’ proposal to initiate the drafting of a preferential trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Zimbabwe.
Both parties acknowledged the significance of continuing joint efforts to implement Belarus-Zimbabwe projects in fields such as agricultural mechanisation and food security, industrial co-operation, energy, digitalisation, education, and enhancing humanitarian exchanges and interactions between youth organisations from both countries.
