The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday announced the High Performance (HP) squads for the upcoming three-match one-day series against Zimbabwe ‘A’, which begins on June 8.
Experienced campaigners Zakir Hasan, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Amite Hasan, Yasir Ali, Khaled Ahmed and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain have been included for the entire series, while wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali Anik has been named for the third and final one-dayer.
Several promising youngsters also earned call-ups. Samiun Basir Ratul and Musfik Hasan will feature throughout the series, while Iftakhar Hossain Ifti has been selected for the opening two matches.
The HP players will travel to Bogura on June 6 after representing their respective clubs in the ninth round of the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on June 5.
The first two one-day matches will be held at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura on June 8 and 10, before the teams move to Rajshahi for the third match on June 13.
The two sides will then travel to Sylhet for two four-day matches, scheduled for June 17-20 and June 24-27 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe ‘A’ arrived in Bangladesh on Wednesday ahead of their month-long tour. The touring squad features several notable names, including Ryan Burl, Innocent Kaia, Wessly Madhevere, Vincent Masekesa and Tadiwanashe Marumani.
Kaia, Marumani and Madhevere will take part in the one-day series before making way for Tanunurwa Makoni, Dion Myers, Munashe Chimusoro and Johnathan Campbell for the four-day matches.
