Bauchi commissioner tasks Wikki Tourists on NPFL ticket

The newly constituted management board of Wikki Tourists FC has been charged to uphold fairness, transparency and accountability in the administration of the club and ensure the Bauchi-based side returns to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the end of the season.

Wikki Tourists will compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL) this season following their relegation from the top flight.

Bauchi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Bashir Ya’u, gave the charge when he received the Sole Administrator of Wikki Tourists FC, Alhaji Haruna Bako, and members of the team’s management in his office.

In his remarks, Ya’u congratulated the new Wikki Tourists management and urged them to place the overall interest of the team above individual interests in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He stressed that players’ and officials’ welfare, fairness and justice must remain the guiding principles in the management of the club, particularly in dealing with players, coaches, technical officials, supporters and other stakeholders.

Ya’u reiterated the passion and commitment of Governor Bala Mohammed towards the development and success of Wikki Tourists, particularly his determination to ensure that the team regains its NPFL ticket at the end of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season.

He also called for greater professionalism, discipline and accountability, noting that these qualities are essential for building a stable and competitive team capable of achieving sustainable success.
