Barker Rewarded With Third Monthly Award

Steve Barker received yet another manager of the month award in Tanzania as he continues an impressive unbeaten run in the league.

Barker received his third manager of the month award after claiming the February and March honours following an incredible unbeaten run.

According to Pan-Africa Football, Barker’s latest award comes after he helped Simba to five wins and a draw, which came against Young Africans in a highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby.

Barker has turned Simba’s fortunes around since taking charge in December 2025, underlined by his third monthly honour and keeping Simba within touching distance of the top spot.

Simba currently sit second in the Tanzanian Premier League with 58 points from 25 games, winning 17, drawing seven and suffering one defeat, which came under Dimitar Pantev’s tutelage.

Not only has the South African kept Simba in a strong position to claim a first league title since the 2020/21 season.

He has also enjoyed an incredible 27-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, winning 20 and drawing seven, having last suffered defeat against Esperance in the CAF Champions League in January.
