Appollis: I Have To Keep Going

Orlando Pirates midfielder Oswin Appollis recently lost his close friend Jayden Adams who passed away after the World Cup and the Cape Town-born player has said that, as much as it’s painful, he has to keep going.

“Obviously you know when I got the news, it was difficult you know. But like I said, I have to continue doing my job. I have a family to feed, so I have to do my job,” said Appollis on Tuesday speaking to media.

The defending Betway Premiership champions held a media open day at the Rand Stadium ahead of their Betway Premiership opening game against Milford FC.

Appollis said the passing of his friend and industry peer has been difficult to accept, however, given the demands of life as a bread-winner, he has to keep going.

The Pirates forward thanked his teammates for helping him win the Midfielder of The Season Award during the PSL Awards on Monday.

“First of all, I think the team helped me win my award of the season. The other awards, Rele (Relebohile Mofokeng), the ones who won, did a fantastic job so they deserve it also,” shared the Bafana Bafana international.

“For me, I have to keep on going (because) this is my job, you know. Things happen, you know, I am happy. I am aways smiling, stuff that happened, it happened and, as I said, this is my job I have to do my job,” Appollis observed.
