Annerie Dercksen and Lara Goodall Inspire Pro50 Wins

Annerie Dercksen claimed a stunning five-wicket haul to propel the Garden Route Badgers to their first Hollywoodbets Pro50 Series victory of the campaign over the Warriors, while Lara Goodall anchored a successful YesPlay Cobras chase against the Fidelity Titans at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn and St Alban’s College in Tshwane on Saturday, 24 October 2026.

Dercksen recorded career-best List A figures of 5/44 to help the Badgers dismiss newcomers Warriors for 145 all out and wrap up a comfortable 98-run win in Oudtshoorn. In the first innings, Verunissa Reddy notched up a 70-ball 52 (4 fours) to guide the Badgers to a total of 243/8.

Goodall was the standout player for the Cobras in Tshwane, striking six fours in an unbeaten knock of 58 off 91 deliveries as the Cape Town-based side surpassed the 136-run target set by the previously unbeaten Titans to seal a five-wicket triumph with 14.5 overs to spare.

Earlier, the Badgers won the toss and elected to bat first. Despite losing an early wicket to Nthabiseng Nini (2/54), Courtney Gounden (36) and Reddy stabilised the innings with a 69-run stand before the latter teamed up with the experienced Mignon du Preez to push the hosts well into three figures.

Although the Warriors fought back with important wickets through Alyssa Erxleben’s 3/40, Aluncedo Dunga (22), Izel Cilliers (41*) and Nicolien Janse van Rensburg (19) added crucial runs late on to help the Badgers post a commanding total.

In their chase, the newly promoted Warriors got off to a flyer with a 66-run opening stand between Jana Nell (36) and Kwanga Pinini (20) before the Badgers broke the visitors’ momentum and took the game away.

Jané Winster (3/28) made the crucial breakthrough before she was joined by Dercksen, who claimed three quick wickets as the pair combined to reduce the Warriors from 66/0 to 85/7 by the 22nd over.

Two more wickets from Dercksen completed her first-ever five-wicket haul in the format and helped seal the 98-run win as the Badgers moved off the bottom of the Pro50 table with their first victory of the season in two matches.

In Tshwane, the high-profile contest of the day featuring the league-leading Titans and defending champions Cobras went the way of the champions after they won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The Cobras had the home side on the back foot early on after a double blow from Kayla Reyneke (2/12) left the Titans struggling on 29/2 in the eighth over.

With a reworked batting line-up, the Titans responded with a 50-run stand between Luyanda Nzuza (32) and Caitlin Wyngaard (40), who were both promoted up the order.

The third-wicket partnership was brought to an end when Nzuza was run out by Oluhle Siyo in the 19th over before captain Leah Jones led the charge with figures of 3/17 as the Titans collapsed to 135 all out in 32.3 overs.
