American Chamber of Commerce named official partner of Libya Energy & Economic Summit 2027

The American Chamber of Commerce in Libya has joined the fifth edition of the Libya Energy & Economic Summit (LEES) 2027 as an official partner, amid growing US interest in Libya’s energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

A US report said the chamber’s participation comes amid renewed momentum in commercial relations between Libya and the United States, as American companies in the energy, engineering and technology sectors continue to assess opportunities related to exploration and production, gas, power-sector modernization and infrastructure.

According to the report, this momentum continued to build in 2026 following the US State Department’s announcement that it would reopen its embassy in Tripoli in phases, reflecting growing confidence in Libya’s commercial outlook and increased support for greater private-sector engagement.

According to the chamber, a Libyan government delegation that visited Washington in 2025 presented potential investment opportunities worth more than $71 billion to US companies, in a visit it described as the largest of its kind.

In 2026, the chamber hosted a delegation of US companies operating in the energy, engineering and technology sectors during the Libya Energy & Economic Summit, connecting them with Libyan institutions and project developers.

The 2027 summit is expected to focus on investment opportunities in hydrocarbons, gas, electricity and digital infrastructure, as well as the role of financing, technology and international expertise in implementing projects and diversifying Libya’s economy.
