Algeria’s state hydrocarbon firm Naftal, plans to build three LPG cylinder filling plants in the republic of Niger.
The project is intended to expand LPG storage and distribution capacity in Niger. It is part of Algeria’s build-up of its energy projects in the Sahel and a strengthening of strategic partnership with its southern neighbour.
For Niger, the project is part of broader efforts to secure access to household energy while upgrading the country’s LPG distribution network.
Naftal, a downstream subsidiary of SONATRACH, is proposing skills transfer and technical support, through specialized training in the storage, distribution and marketing of petroleum products, for the staff of Niger’s state hydrocarbon firm, SONIDEP.
