Libyan Army Chief of Staff Salahuddin Al-Namroush discussed with Hanna Tetteh, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), the outcomes of the 4+4 mini-dialogue committee and support for efforts to unify the military institution.
During their meeting at Al-Namroush’s office on Wednesday, the two sides discussed ways to support the implementation of steps resulting from the latest meeting in Sirte, aimed at laying the foundations for a unified military institution, exploring mechanisms for supporting these efforts during the next phase and advancing toward practical steps to achieve military unification.
The meeting also reviewed the results and recommendations of the Joint 4+4 Committee meetings, as well as the role of UNSMIL and the international community in supporting the unification of Libya’s institutions, particularly the military institution, in a way that strengthens security and stability and supports the country’s unity.
