Akeem Busari Says Flamingos’ 11-0 Win Over Guinea Reflects Team Growth, Not Weak Opposition

Head coach of Nigeria’s Nigeria women’s national under-17 football team, Akeem Busari, has said the Flamingos’ emphatic 11-0 aggregate victory over Guinea represents another important step in the development of the team.

Speaking after Nigeria sealed qualification progress in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, Busari stressed that the focus remains on improving the players’ understanding of the game rather than simply celebrating the scoreline.

“The result reflects the growth of the team,” Busari said.

According to the Flamingos coach, the technical crew has been working extensively on improving the squad’s movement, positioning, and decision-making in possession.

“We are focused on helping the players understand the game better,” he implied.

Busari explained that Nigeria’s dominance against Guinea came from intelligent ball usage, quick passing combinations, and effective exploitation of space.

“The players moved the ball very well and used spaces intelligently,” he noted.

The coach also praised his team for maintaining tactical discipline against a physically strong Guinean side.

“Guinea were physically strong, but the girls handled the game very well,” he added.

Busari was careful to avoid dismissing the opposition despite the huge aggregate scoreline.

“This result is more about our development than the weakness of the opposition,” he stressed.

The Flamingos continue establishing themselves as one of Africa’s strongest youth teams in women’s football.

“The team is showing impressive tactical maturity,” many football observers believe.

Nigeria’s dominant qualification campaign has also increased excitement around the future of women’s football development in the country.

“The future looks very promising for the Flamingos,” supporters continue to say.

For Akeem Busari, the message is clear.

The focus is development.

The players are improving steadily.

And the Flamingos are growing stronger tactically with every match.

Because long-term success in football is built through continuous learning, discipline, and intelligent development.
