The airline will operate three flights a week to Barranquilla, supplementing its daily operations to  Bogotá and Medellín.

Planned operations are as follows:

UX167 DEPART MAD 15:25 ARRIVE BAQ 19:35
UX168 DEPART BAQ 21:£5 ARRIVE MAD12:40+1

Commences: 18th December 2026
Operates Monday, Friday and Sunday
Booked Equipment: Air Europa Boeing 787-8 (Two-Class)

The new operation will involve more than 300 flights a year and will make more than 92,000 seats available to passengers per year. Air Europa expects to transport nearly 75,000 passengers during the first twelve months of service, reaching an average occupancy of more than 80%, based upon growth projections.  The airline does this with confidence, noting that since its operations began to both Bogotá and Medellín, it has carried almost 2.5 million passengers to Bogotá and Medellín, registering average occupancy rates of 90% (based on daily flights).

Passengers can connect at Madrid onto Air Europa’s European network, as well as onto other SkyTeam carriers.

Continued Expansion

Air Europa is continuing its expansion, with the airline planning to launch flights to El Salvador at the end of the year. 2026 itself has been a busy year of growth, which has seen flights launched from Madrid to Oviedo, Seville, Geneva and Johannesburg.

With its location near the Caribbean, along with an expected passenger base, Air Europa will be looking to benefit from both winter traffic, as well as other traffic this port city can offer.
