After speaking to Iran, Egypt turns to Europe’s strongest economic power to discuss the conflict affecting the globe

While his conversation with the Iranian minister focused on the conflict between the US and Iran, Badr Abdelatty spoke to the German Foreign Minister over the phone about how to curb the fighting in Gaza.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry noted that Badr Abdelatty spoke to Johann Wadephul about the gravity of letting the conflict in the Middle East rage on.

He touched on the idea of facilitating peace between the warring nations and ensuring the establishment of unity in the Palestinian territories, as seen on the Syrian Arab News Agency.

The phone call, in a nutshell, focused on strengthening international initiatives to mitigate escalation and combating any efforts to compromise the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Outside of the Palestinian war, both ministers also discussed the very devastating war in Iran, currently affecting the critical Strait of Hormuz trade channel.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister highlighted the critical importance of pursuing diplomatic solutions and prioritizing ongoing communication to effectively manage tensions, mitigate escalation, prevent the further expansion of the conflict, and safeguard regional and international security and stability.

Furthermore, the ministers discussed strategies to enhance bilateral relations between his country and Germany, which is currently Europe’s strongest economy.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening the alliance between both nations and fostering closer cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, energy, and economic development, to mutual advantage.

The discussions focused on Oman-mediated conversations with Iran, as well as efforts to restart the implementation of a memorandum inked by Tehran and Washington, with the ultimate objective of achieving a long-term agreement that addresses unresolved issues and improves regional stability.

Abdelatty urged increased diplomatic intervention to prevent further escalation and support peaceful solutions to regional concerns.

Additionally, he underlined the need to safeguard Gulf countries’ security and international marine routes, saying that regional stability should benefit its citizens.
