2027: Niger Delta coalition backs Tinubu’s presidential bid

A coalition of youths, women, students, and community leaders from the Niger Delta’s oil-producing communities, under the banner of Niger Delta Accredited Supporters for Tinubu 2027, has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.

Speaking at the group’s inauguration in Abuja, National Coordinator Hon. Joseph Ebodei said the movement reflects growing endorsement of the current administration’s reforms and governance agenda.

“The movement is strong, the support is growing, and we remain committed to the democratic process as we approach 2027,” Ebodei said.

“We believe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves the opportunity to complete his constitutional eight-year tenure and continue implementing his administration’s programmes for national development.”

Senior Patron of the association, Chief Livinus Alix Odudu, affirmed that the organisation is putting structures in place across the region to drive voter mobilisation, electoral awareness, and grassroots political campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Highlighting internal developments, National Secretary Hon. Dennis Ariaga praised key stakeholders, including the group’s Matron, Mrs Iku Tobechukwu Victoria, for championing women-focused empowerment initiatives alongside national APC leadership. He added that economic stability in the region relies heavily on strategic sector management:

“Effective management and development of the oil and gas sector remain critical to Nigeria’s economic growth, revenue generation, and employment opportunities. Continued investment, coupled with security and effective administration, can create greater economic opportunities for Nigerians, particularly in host communities.”

On security, Patron Sheikh Hassan Olughu commended President Tinubu’s restructuring of the national security framework, citing ongoing interventions by defence authorities to safeguard lives, secure critical assets, and tackle criminal activities nationwide.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful political engagement and grassroots mobilisation as it prepares to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming electoral cycle.
