Al-Namroush, AFRICOM Commander discuss strengthening military cooperation
The Chief of General Staff Salah Al-Namroush met with Claude Theodore, Commander of US Africa Command’s (AFRICOM) Special Operations Command, to discuss ways to strengthen military cooperation and enhance Libya’s defense and security capabilities.
The meeting focused on training and capacity-building programs for special forces, preparations for their participation in Flintlock 2027, and efforts to support the unification of Libya’s military institution and improve coordination among its components.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in counterterrorism, border security, and the protection of critical infrastructure and energy resources, with the aim of supporting regional stability and security.
