Wartsila stock is tied to a 14 MW Senegal power plant order booked in Q2 2026, and the company said the equipment is scheduled for delivery in March 2027. The order was placed by Africa Power Services on behalf of Fortuna Mining, while Wärtsilä’s 2025 net sales totaled EUR 6.2 billion.
Order intake adds a fresh driver
The latest release says the captive plant will use five Wärtsilä 32 engines and will power the Diamba Sud Gold Project in Senegal. It also says the mine will depend solely on this plant for electricity, making reliability and efficiency the main design points for the project.
The release adds another dated anchor for investors: the plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2027, which gives the order a long execution window rather than an immediate revenue spike. That matters because the booking lands in Q2 2026 while delivery only starts in March 2027.
Estimates are moving up
Recent analyst coverage says the company was upgraded to Buy and that the Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 has increased 4.2% over the past three months. The same coverage puts expected fiscal 2026 earnings at $0.25 per share, giving the stock a second support point beyond the Senegal order.
For context, Wärtsilä said it had 17,900 professionals in 199 locations across 78 countries and EUR 6.2 billion in 2025 net sales. That combination of scale and a rising estimate base is the key contrast in the current setup.
Why the engine package matters
The Senegal project uses Wärtsilä 32 engine generating sets, a product family the company says has delivered more than 8,000 MW of energy over 30 years. The release also highlights fast-start flexibility, which is central to hybrid power systems that later add wind or solar.
That product detail matters because the order is not just a one-off equipment sale. It links a concrete industrial project to Wärtsilä’s broader energy business and to a recurring theme in its portfolio: off-grid reliability with future renewable integration.
Shares still trade on execution
Wartsila shares are listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. The fresh catalyst is the Senegal order, while the broader investment case now hinges on whether booked orders and estimate revisions keep moving in the same direction.

More on Wärtsilä stock
The Senegal order centers on Wärtsilä 32 engines, a platform the company says has been used for 30 years and more than 8,000 MW of delivered energy. That product mix fits the company’s energy-services push and keeps the focus on execution, order intake and the next reporting update.
Market view
Wartsila stock now has a clear catalyst, a Q2 2026 order booking, and a 2025 revenue base of EUR 6.2 billion behind it. The stock’s next readout will come from whether those bookings and estimate revisions translate into a stronger 2026 earnings profile.
