Kyle Richardson serves as Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Recife. He brings to this role extensive experience across multiple continents, having most recently served at the Board of Examiners in Washington, D.C., where he assessed candidates seeking to join the next generation of the Department of State’s Foreign Service.
Kyle’s diplomatic career includes key posts throughout Asia and Latin America. He served as Political Counselor at the U.S. Mission to Indonesia from 2021 to 2024, Deputy Political Counselor at the U.S. Mission to Brazil from 2016 to 2019, and Deputy Director of the East Asia Office of Multilateral Affairs from 2014 to 2016. His overseas assignments have also taken him to Colombia, Iraq, Egypt, and Mexico, reflecting a career built on deep regional expertise and adaptability.
A 2020 distinguished graduate of the National War College, Kyle holds a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a bachelor’s degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (SFS). He is married and has one daughter.
