Cumbia, dance, and a culinary showcase at this festival dedicated to Colombia: it’s this weekend, and admission is free

Show off your best dance moves because this Saturday, July 18, there will be a festival celebrating Colombia in Mexico City. Throughout the day, you’ll see artistic performances as well as a showcase of Colombian culinary culture. The event will only last one day, so mark the date on your calendar.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Culture, the event will be held as part of the commemoration of Colombia’s Independence. You’ll mainly see artistic and cultural activities, which will take place in various areas of the Los Pinos Cultural Complex.

For example, in Plaza Jacarandas, we’ll see the musical sextet La Enguayabá, who, through their music, reimagine traditional Colombian cumbia, fandango, and more.

We’ll also see Julieth Castro, who’ll get everyone dancing with her show “Cumbia Hits.” Start practicing your best dance moves because it’s going to be an afternoon full of music.
