When US President Donald Trump declared an end to the US-Iran ceasefire a few days ago in the Strait of Hormuz, Liberia’s flag was still visibly flying on many of the world’s largest oil tankers.

It has become more visible in the troubled Strait of Hormuz than the flags of the United States, the United Kingdom, or China.

4. Liberia has gained greater international recognition due to the sterling and transparent administration of President Joseph Boakai.
