WANA (Jun 28) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to supporting Iraq and strengthening bilateral cooperation during a meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi in Baghdad on Sunday.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments, including the recent Iran–U.S. agreement that brought an end to the war.
Al-Halbousi reiterated Iraq’s support for diplomatic efforts aimed at reinforcing dialogue and prioritizing peaceful solutions to regional crises and conflicts.

Araghchi emphasized Iran’s willingness to continue supporting Iraq and to expand bilateral relations and cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
Earlier in the day, Araghchi also held separate meetings with Iraqi President Nizar Al-Amidi and Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi as part of his visit to Baghdad.
He also met with Iraq’s National Security Adviser, Qasim al-Aboudi, as part of his talks with senior Iraqi officials
