Maroussi B.C. Re-signs Angolan Power Forward Silvio de Sousa

Maroussi B.C. (GBL) re-signed 27-year-old Angolan international 206cm power forward Silvio de Sousa (college: Chattanooga) for the upcoming season. He played there last season. In 12 GBL games, he averaged 10.8ppg and 5.3rpg. He helped them make it to the Greek Cup Semifinals. de Sousa also played for Burgos (Liga Endesa) in the Spanish league.
He has been a member of the Angolan international program for some years. de Sousa has regularly played for the Angolan senior team since 2015 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2016.
He also represented Angola at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Valencia (Spain) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 12 points per game and had 8 rebounds per game.
de Sousa is a very experienced player, having played professionally in France (Chorale de Roanne), Israel (Kiryat Ata), and Spain.
de Sousa’s team achieved the Greek League Semifinals in 2024. de Sousa received the Eurobasket.com All-World Cup U19 Honorable Mention in 2017 during high school.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2022 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball. de Sousa played for other colleges like the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas.
