KINGSTON, Jamaica — Carifta Games champion Robert Miller leads the qualifiers for the boys Under-20 400m hurdles after he ran 52.21 seconds in Thursday’s first round at the JAAA National Championships at the National Stadium.
Hydel High’s Miller; who has committed to Baylor University, had failed to complete the Boys’ Champs double, winning the 110m hurdles but did not complete the 400m hurdles final.
Jahvanie Tyrell of Kingston College ran 52.62 seconds, followed by Rojay Black of Jamaica College (52.35 seconds), and Joshua Wint of William Knibb ran 52.75 seconds.
Lacovia High’s Nicholas Jones led the Under-18 section with 53.05 seconds, with Kingston College’s Rahiem McIntosh next with 53.63 seconds, Jamaica College’s Oneil Lawrence (54.45 seconds) and Malik Thompson of Camperdown with 55.53 seconds.
