Kpautagi wins Niger ADC guber primary

ADC governorship candidate in Niger State, Dr. Mohammed Kpautagi

After some delays caused by communication snags, the Niger State gubernatorial primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ended up with the declaration of Dr Mohammed Kpautagi Mohammed as the winner of the tension-soaked exercise.

The State Returning Officer and Secretary, ADC Primary Election Committee, Ibrahim Mohammed, who released the result of the primary at the IBB Guest House, Minna, disclosed that Dr Kpautagi scored a total of 67,924 votes to beat Alhaji Idris Usman, who polled 27,769 across the 25 local councils of the state”.

The Returning Officer,also announced the three senatorial seats of ADC primary elections which include; Niger North, Alhaji Shehu Mohammed, Niger East Muktar Ahmed unopposed, while the Niger South Baba Shehu Agaie former deputy leader of the house of representative were declared the winners.

Meanwhile, the Niger state Federal House of Representative winners of the ADC primary elections were: Bida/Gbako/ Katcha, Mohammed Abubakar, Tafa/Gurara/ Suleja, Ado K. Abubakar, Mashegu/wushishi/kontagora/

Mariga,Mohammed Ibrahim Abubakar, Lavun/Edati/Mokwa, Abubakar M. Takuma, Magama/Rijau Mohammed Nazir Abdullahi, Lapai/Agaie Shitu Adamu Evuti, Agwara/Borgu,Jailani Inuwa, Chanchaga,Doctor Alhaji Mohammed, while Bosso/Paikoro, Abdulmali Kabir, Shiroro/Munya/Rafi ,Ismaila Ibrahim.

He stated: “The house of Assembly members representing the 25 Local Government Areas of Niger state includes: Nasiru Waziri for Kontagora one, Bawa Joshua for Munya, Auta Solomon for Tafa, Nuhu Ibrahim for Gurara, Abdullahi Imam for Wushishi, Isah Mohammed for Edati, Abubakar Garba Mohammed for Suleja, Mairogo Hamisu for Borgu, Idris Ibrahim for Shiroro and Riyanu Suleiman for Kontagora two.

“Others include, Abdulwahid Ahmed for Chanchaga,Shehu Haruna Marfa for Mariga,Mohammed Baba Sani for Mokwa, Yusuf Baba for Lavun, Mohammed Umar Katcha, Adamu M. Wonigi for Agaie while Haruna Labaran is for Rafi Local Government, and Bosso, Yusuf Aliyu, Bida one, Baba Abubakar and Bida two Mustapha Shuaib.

Declaring the official results, the Niger State returning officer, Mohammed, explained that the above-mentioned candidates won their various positions having met with the required conditions of the party constitution and guidelines for the elective offices.
